Volunteering Abroad

Hi readers,

I recently wrote a story about volunteering abroad, and it’s now the featured story on StartBackpacking.com! To read it click the link below:

Also, I updated my “volunteering” page with lots of photos. You can click here to find it, or find it under the ‘advice’ column up top.

  1. Hi i am from Delhi, India and I loved the way you have written your experience…such lovely pictures of the cows and the goat… it’s tempting me to go on a similar trip, but I wish I have the company of an experienced traveller like yourself…

As for the website, I heal people with prana violet healing system, it’s my Malaysian teacher’s website…

Looking forward for suggestions from you how to go about finalising the volunteer work and if I can join somebody, thank u

      Hi Deepa,

      Thanks for the feedback!

To get started, I would reccommend taking a look at the website helpx.net. You can search for farms based on the country you wish to visit. You can see reviews from other volunteers so you’ll know what to expect. On that website there is also a tool to help you find a travel buddy, click ‘companions’ up at the top.

Another website which will connect you with other like-minded travelers is couchsurfing.org. You might be able to meet someone to travel with there!

Also, if you can’t find someone before you leave, if you just go and get started, you’re bound to meet someone on the road to join up with. It’s all part of the adventure! 🙂

      Good luck,
      from Amber
