After I met the Taiwanese guys at the hot air balloon festival, they took me to a commune where people traveling around Taiwan stay the night for free. That’s where I met John, a fellow solo motorbiker in his 70’s. He insisted that I wake up at 5am the next morning to go with him to see Liushidan Mountain, where the farmed daylillies just happened to be blooming. Here are the photos (from August 2012).

Hot Air Balloon Festival
Here are some photos from last August when I was in Taipei. I met these cool guys on the couchsurfing website who took me to this hot air balloon festival near Taitung. Highly recommended for anyone going to Taiwan!
Tasmania: West Coast
After our east coast adventure, we went back to Hobart to pick up a car to relocate to Melbourne. It’s a deal that gives cheap or free rentals to people who are willing to drive cars to certain locations. If you want to do a car relocation, check out my travel advice page.
